Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union is governed by a seven-member volunteer Board of Directors. Our volunteers are elected by the membership of the Credit Union. These individuals are not compensated for their time and effort. Each Board Member serves for a term of three years. There is no maximum number of terms that an individual can serve. Annually the Board appoints four officers from among its ranks: Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary.
The Board meets at least monthly to review the financial affairs of the institution, declare dividend rates on savings accounts and interest rates on loans, review and approve plans of management for running the day-to-day operation of the Credit Union, and act on other business as necessary. Each Board Member also serves on numerous committees that review specific areas of the Credit Union finances and operation in detail.
