Founded in 1936, Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union has over 80 years of service to the Nassau County community.

Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union, established in 1936, has been a cornerstone of the Nassau County community for over 85 years, proudly serving more than 15,000 members and managing assets exceeding $340 million. As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution, we are dedicated to improving the financial well-being of our members and the communities we serve. Our headquarters is located in East Meadow, NY, at 2575 Hempstead Turnpike, Suite 300, where we oversee our full range of financial products and services, including savings and checking accounts, loans, credit cards, and innovative digital banking solutions.

Our mission is to "Improve the financial well-being of each member and the communities we serve," reflecting the credit union philosophy of "People helping people." We actively engage in community initiatives, such as our support for the Empire State Ride for Cancer, a significant event that takes place near our Audrey Ave branch in Oyster Bay. This event underscores our commitment to making a positive impact by raising awareness and funds for cancer research.

At Nassau Financial, we continually enhance our technology offerings to meet the evolving needs of our members. Our state-of-the-art Mobile Banking App, and Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) available in all our branches provide convenient and efficient banking experiences. These ITMs combine the ease of self-service with the option to connect with a live teller for personalized assistance.

Membership Information

Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union serves all those who live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in Nassau County and portions of Suffolk County, New York, as well as members of their immediate family or household. Immediate family includes stepparents, stepchildren, step-siblings and adoptive relationships. Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union provides high quality, competitively priced consumer financial services to more than 15,000 members.

All member deposits are federally insured, in the aggregate, up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) a U. S. government agency, through a government-backed federal insurance fund known as the National Credit Union Shared Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) and are backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.

Joint member accounts are insured separately from individual accounts up to a maximum of $250,000. IRAs receive separate $250,000 insurance coverage.

Supervisory Committee Report

The Supervisory Committee is composed of five independent volunteers who are primarily responsible for ensuring that the Board of Directors and the Management of Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union meet required financial reporting objectives and establish practices and procedures sufficient to safeguard members assets.

The committee meets at least quarterly with the Internal Auditors and Executive Management to review adherence with established policies and procedures. The committee tracks the progression of action items noted in the audit reports to ensure that they are properly addressed. Our credit union’s Director of Internal Audit assists this committee with fulfilling these responsibilities.

For the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023, this committee engaged the accounting firm of Nearman, Maynard, Vallez, CPAs to perform a comprehensive audit. This audit of the credit union’s financial statements was conducted in conformity with federal regulations, testing for conditions which could adversely affect the financial operation of our credit union.

The audit fieldwork was performed remotely during the period March 4, 2024, through March 29, 2024.

This committee is pleased to report they found no material weaknesses. The accounting records and reports are prepared as required and accurately reflect the financial condition of our Credit Union. Our Credit Union is well managed, financially sound, and has effective internal controls. The credit union follows established policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.
